This Week's Deals

Albertson's had a big sale this week, buy $30 of participating products and receive $15 off your next shopping order. From How to Shop and Save I learned that you can split up your items into separate $30 orders and use the $15 coupons right away. There were also two coupons in the weekly ad that let you double 3 manufacturer's coupons, up to $1.00 each. I've never done this before and was a little nervous about it, but the checker was very friendly and said if the cash register let him do it, he had no problem with it. This is the first time I've been in Albertson's where they've had everything that was on my list; sometimes when there are good sales, things run out quickly. Wait, that's not true, they didn't have the 5 lb. bags of potatoes that were on sale for $.25/lb (limit 2), but they let me substitute a 15 lb. bag and get 10 lbs. of them for the sale price. Here's a list of my awesome deals:

First group:
3 (8lb.) bags of Iams dog food
Total: $31.58
manufacturer's coupons used: $1.00
Total savings: $9.97, plus $15 to use on next order

Grand total spent: $55.25
Grand total saved: $92.31, plus $15 to use next time!

  1. Man, you put my shopping to shame. My goal each week is to have my savings be around 50%, although it's usually closer to 40%. Yours rocks, though! Keep the great suggestions coming.

  2. Wow, amazing! Now I just need to find an Alberstons and actually start reading the ads. I'm such a lame shopper and just happy to be out of the store under $100. I'm sure I could be saving much more though. It's like my friend said the other day when I saw him in the store, "You always tend to spend much more money when you are busy." SO TRUE! I guess we all just need to slow down a little and start reading the ads like you do. Thanks for being such a great shopper for us all to learn from!
