My friend Brooke frequently posts about off-the-wall holidays, so I thought I'd try to find some that she doesn't know about. In other words, it's Saturday night, Brad's gone at Nate's soccer game, Kylie's babysitting, Jillian's playing on the other computer, and Ben is in the bathtub. What else am I gonna do?
Did you know tomorrow (Jan 11) is "National Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend Day"? Don't forget to celebrate! We've got lots of puddles around here from all the rain we've gotten lately!
If you don't believe me, you can celebrate "International Skeptics Day" on January 13th.
If I'm still bored on the 14th, I just might participate in "National Dress Up Your Pet Day".
And I would celebrate "Women in Bluejeans Day" on the 15th, if I had a pair that I really liked!
But I'm really looking forward to "National Pie Day" on the 23rd. Now I just have to decide which kind to make...
You better watch out at church today. I'll be looking for some nice, big puddles!
ReplyDeleteAnd I always thought March 14 was National Pie (Pi) Day. (Pi = 3.14...) That's when we've always celebrated it. But truthfully, pie is good enough to celebrate more than once a year!
I like 3-14 for pie day better, makes much more sense. I just pulled my dates off some website, it didn't give any reasons behind the holidays. But like you said, pie can be celebrated more than once a year!
ReplyDeleteGreat fun! So I recently attend a conference for work and one of the speakers was talking about how to increase your rental market and be more tenant friendly and she gave us a handout that had all of these "National Holidays" listed on it. I thought it was pretty funny! There was National Nacho Day and everything! I'll have to dig it out and post a few to play along.
