Can you say "Oedipus Complex"?

A few weeks ago, Ben drew a picture on my bedsheet. I asked Ben what it was and he said "You, me, and Dad in bed." At the time, I didn't look at it very carefully, just thought it was funny. Today, while putting the sheets on the bed, I looked more closely at the picture.

Guess which one's Brad!

  1. So I don't get it! Did he get in trouble for drawing on your sheets? I would have been so angry! ARGH, little boys get into everything!

  2. OK, I guess I can't assume everyone knows what an Oedipus Complex is. Jeff should know if he's been paying attention in his psychology classes! Basically, in developmental psychology, it's a stage young children go through where they want to marry the parent of the opposite sex and do away with the other parent. In this picture Ben drew of me, him and Brad in bed, Brad is crossed out so Ben can be with just me.

No, he didn't get in trouble. I thought it was pretty funny even before I looked at more closely. Now I think it's hilarious!

  3. Have I ever told you how much I love your kids!? It's too bad that we don't still do arranged marriages. Our families have 3 potential matches (4, if you match Nathan with Adana). :-) I'd love to have family reunions with you guys. :-)
