Well, almost. One of us (not mentioning any names, but it's pretty obvious from the picture) slept in and didn't make it!
After 2 1/2 months off due to weather, illness, emergency surgery, working, and new home buying and finishing, we were all (except one...) excited to get going again! We decided on Eagle Harbor so we could ease back into it. Yesterday was a perfect day to re-start our adventure. The water was like glass, it wasn't too cold, there was no wind.
Eagle Harbor is a busy place. It's home to the Washington State Ferry's maintenance yard:
two marinas, a public dock, several live-aboard vessels, and the old Strawberry Cannery. This picture shows all that remains of the cannery. The City is trying to turn the site into a public park.
There are also several large houses on the shores.
Including this one that was barged here last summer.
It's nice to see there are homes for the birds as well!
It was wonderful to be back out on the water. Next time hopefully we'll be the full contingent!
