Kylie had a busy weekend.
Friday night she participated in the North Sound MathCounts competition with Woodward's math team. She and three other math-letes are on the Varsity team. Teams from five or six other schools in the area competed, and her team won first place! She ranked 8th overall in the individual competition.
Saturday morning, she and four friends, a.k.a team "Enter the Anthony" (don't ask, I have no idea!) patricipated in a music competition at Central Kitsap High School. They performed for a judge, who critiqued them and gave advice on their playing. Their group scored a "2", with a "1" being the highest score.
Tifanie on clarinet, Kylie on bass clarinet, Timothy on Tuba, Graham on trumpet and Anthony on oboe.
After the competition, it was on to the Stake Center for bonnet sewing! Our Stake is planning a Pioneer Trek this summer and the kids are supposed to wear pioneer clothing. The girls get to wear long dresses, petticoats, pantaloons, aprons, and bonnets. Kylie is very excited, let me tell you! But she participated with a great attitude, and sewed most of the bonnet on her own.
I think she (and all the girls) looks adorable in her bonnet!
I really love that Kylie has such diverse interests and isn't afraid to try new things. She's confident in her abilities and is willing to share her talents with others. She's an amazing young woman!
LOVE the orange! Kylie has always been an incredible girl. I miss the times she and I were so close. You have done some stellar parenting Jens. xo
ReplyDeletePs- This is Katie NOT Myron. I am just TOO lazy to switch. G'night.
Maybe she can hand that great orange bonnet down to Adana when she's through with it. :-) Adana idolizes Kylie!
