"Stay-cation" Day Three

The Zoo today, compliments of Jillian's choice.  We bought an annual family pass at the Santa Barbara Zoo last year when we were there for Spring Break because it was almost the same price as one day's admission for our family, AND our local zoo is a "reciprocating zoo" which means the pass can be used at ours as well, AND was a lot cheaper than the annual pass from our zoo!  The pass expired on March 31, so guess when we finally used it again?  Yep.  March 31.  Actually, Brad, Jill and Ben did use it last summer when Kylie and I were in the Philippines.  So it was well worth it!

On the ferry ride over, Seattle's fire boat, the Leschi, was running some tests, so we got to watch an amazing water show, complete with rainbows!

When we got to the Zoo, Ben was our navagator, which was hilarious!  He held the map and told us where to go. At our first stop he proudly declared, "Here are the Asian Cranes."  Then he looked up.  Nope, it was some goat thing.  We couldn't stop laughing!  Then a little later, he came to a sign, which he sounded out while consulting his map, "A..fri..ca..."  Nope again.  It actually said, "Family Farm."  Fortunately he was a good sport and let us have our laughs without getting upset.  Sometimes he can take things really personally and get very upset about being teased, so it was nice that we could all laugh together about it.

Kylie took a picture of every single animal in the Zoo, but I won't post them all here!  Some of our favorites:
